Kiln Shoot Gone Wrong, and the Adjustment

The plan was to film the loading of the kiln, but ten minutes inside and the lens was completely fogged over. We moved to the kiln mouth to film the sealing instead, and recorded a long, unbroken stretch of the kiln fire's sound on a phone. Listening back, the audio carried more force than any image — so we decided to make "Sounds & Dialects" a standalone column.
