Ethics & Reflections

Ethics of advocacy, limitations, and our ethics statement.

Ethics and Reflections

Statement of Ethics

  • All interviews are conducted with consent; interviewees may choose anonymity, review their transcripts, and withdraw;
  • Inheritors are never presented as spectacle; attribution is always clear;
  • Unauthorized material is not published; sensitive content is anonymized or redacted.

The Boundaries of Publication

I publish research findings and the process of communication, but not unauthorized internal information.

Limitations and Reflections

The sample is small, the time frame short, and language is a constraint (local dialect relied on translation). There is also my own position as documenter: I care more about the workers, and this shapes the direction of my questions. These limitations should be kept in mind in every piece of analysis.
